Reviewing The Popular Choices Cottage Holidays In Appledore

Looking at the recommended selection cottage holidays in Appledore

As UK holidays are expected to be very popular this year it is a good time to look at North Devon holiday cottage to rent. Some of the more popular cottages include the following holiday cottages in Appledore:

Appledore, located on the North Devon coast where the Rivers Torridge and Taw meet, is full of history with ancient houses, quaint streets and a deep rooted fishing heritage. The market town of Bideford with its historic Panier Market is close by, as is the surfing beach of Westward Ho!, just a brief walk away across Northam Country Park, home to England’s oldest Links Golf Course.

Rainbow’s End cottage is situated at the quay end of picturesque and charming Irsha Street and within easy reach of the well frequented public houses, The Royal George and Beaver Inn. A few steep steps lead to a small garden which acts as a sun trap ideal for sun bathing, balmy evenings and BBQs. The cottage is a converted Fisherman’s Cottage with some of it dating back over 400 years, gradually metamorphosing from fisherman’s cottage to shops, to a perfect holiday cottage.

What could be more tempting for a holiday cottage to be called than “Glimpse-a-View “! A delightful fully refurbished fisherman’s cottage in Appledore. The cottage is sited in the oldest part of the village, a long street with brightly painted properties along either site and along the waterfront.

It is the perfect holiday retreat, being within a short rambling distance of a selection of excellent pubs, restaurants, shops and the busy quayside. It also gives the perfect location for rambling, fishing and soaking up the sun on the sandy beaches. The scenery is just breathtaking. After a tiring day exploring, you can take the chance to relax and talk about the day’s events in the delightful, secluded patio garden.

Close by is Lantern Cottage, a charming fully refurbished fisherman’s cottage decorated with flair, in the centre of the pretty Appledore. Lantern Cottage is 20 seconds from the waterfront and beach at West Quay, excellent for rockpooling and fishing (sand at low tide). From the Quay admire the breathtaking views over the estuary to the golden sandy beaches of Instow and Braunton Burrows and out beyond the open sea.

Lastly, Waters Reach is 3-storey 200-year-old Georgian house which has great uninterrupted views of the Torridge estuary. This is a very popular property, as can be seen from the large quantity of previous bookings and claims to be one of the most charming properties in Appledore. It is very well-equipped. On the ground floor there’s a fully-fitted kitchen with a small breakfast room and a luxurious shower.

Up a floor there’s a lovely drawing room with large double bed sash windows with views over the whole estuary. On the second floor, to the rear a twin bed room which looks over Appledore’s roofs and gardens. To the front, a double bedroom with great views of the river estuary again.
