The way the company promises that you will have a ‘chav-free’ holiday is by the name of their customers. The email that the holiday company sent out went to 24,000 people and it stated that their customers are most likely to have middle-class names like Michael, Charles or Alice.
They also said that if you book a holiday with them then you are less likely to be on holiday with people named Dazza or Chardonnay, who are considered ‘chav’ names.
They finished the email with some education statistics.
They claim that if you have a middle-class name like Duncan or Alice, you are almost 10 times more likely to pass your GCSEs. Compared to people with names like Dwayne or Wayne.
Even though the company received a number of emails from angry customers saying they will never travel with them again, the company is pleased with it’s ad campaign.
