Which Are The Most Popular Holiday Cottages In Devon

Many people are considering booking a Devon holiday cottage this year, but out of the hundreds on offer over the entire Devon region, which ones do you start to look at first? Well, an easy way to start the decision process must be to see which cottages other people have booked before you. With some having taken loads of different online bookings each, there must be something very special in these properties that means that people are booking them, and coming back to book them time and time again. So just what are our most booked holiday cottages in in all of the region of Devon for you to choose from this year’s summer escape?

Well, our most popular holiday cottage in Devon at the moment is one known as Coast Cottage, in Shaldon situated on the South Devon Coast. Even though it is certainly a popular cottage, it’s really not that big. It will sleep either 3 adults or alternatively 2 adults and 2 children, in its one double bedroom and the bed settee in the living room. There’s a kitchen, of course, and for a small supplement the owner is happy for holiday makers to even take their dogs on their annual holidays. No need to be parted from your well pampered dog nor the added expense and inconvenient hassle of boarding kennels.

The cottage is an old fisherman’s cottage and is located just a few steps from the beach and slipway. It is only a short, flat walk to the local amenities. The cottage is well equipped as you might expect and the comfortable lounge even has the benefit of a living flame gas fire, maybe wonderful for those romantic winter evenings cuddled up indoors. Nearby there are a couple of beaches to visit, pubs to eat in, gardens and even a golf course.

Just behind Coast Cottage in terms of bookings is another cottage known as Sowton Mill Cottage in Dunsford, in the area of Dartmoor National Park. Again, a small cottage sleeping only 4 adults, but it might not be suitable for toddlers and the such like as there is deep water just yards from the cottage. This is because the cottage is the converted part of a watermill, which makes the accommodation a bit unusual, which in turn might be the appeal to some people.

Both bedrooms are twins, so the cottage is suitable for parties of friends as well as couples. There are some good pubs to eat at near by and it is only about 10 minutes to local fishing and golf facilities to keep you active. A little further away, about 30 minutes from the cottage, you will find the seaside and horse riding plus rambling and various National Trust properties.

These are just the most booked two of the many holiday cottages Devon on offer in Devon and there is a an excellent choice of rental properties about, not just of smaller cottages such as these two detailed, but there are also some much larger cottages on offer as well for larger parties. You can certainly be spoilt for choice not only in size of the cottages, but facilities and location as well.
